Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif to visit Türkiye for high-level talks
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will pay a working visit to Türkiye on 4 July 2026 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to a statement by Burhanettin Duran.
Duran announced that the visit will provide an opportunity for the two countries to further strengthen their longstanding ties and discuss avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors.
During the meetings, Turkish and Pakistani officials are expected to conduct a comprehensive review of relations between the two nations, with particular emphasis on increasing trade volume, boosting investment opportunities, and enhancing economic cooperation. The leaders are also expected to exchange views on key regional and international developments, reflecting the close coordination between Ankara and Islamabad on a variety of global issues.
The visit is expected to underscore the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Pakistan, which have maintained strong political, economic, and cultural relations for decades. Both countries have frequently expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas including trade, defense, education, and technology.
As part of Prime Minister Sharif’s visit, a Türkiye–Pakistan Business Forum is also expected to be held, bringing together representatives of the business communities of both countries. The forum is anticipated to explore new investment opportunities and promote stronger commercial ties between Turkish and Pakistani companies.
The high-level visit comes amid ongoing efforts by both governments to expand bilateral cooperation and strengthen coordination on regional and international matters of mutual interest. (ILKHA)
