Palestinian resistance strikes back: Al-Qassam, Al-Quds Brigades hit Israeli forces in Khan Younis

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, launched a powerful salvo of Q20 rockets targeting the Israeli settlements of Nir Yitzhak and Mivtahim on Tuesday, striking back against Israel’s relentless military operations in Gaza.
The rockets were fired from an area near Israeli military vehicles operating north of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, underscoring the Palestinian Resistance’s determination to confront the occupation forces head-on.
In a series of bold operations, Al-Qassam fighters escalated their resistance against Israel’s genocidal campaign. On Saturday, June 28, the group announced that its fighters targeted four Israeli engineering excavators with Al-Yassin 105 anti-armor shells in Aabasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, setting the equipment ablaze. Witnesses reported casualties among Israeli soldiers at the site, with helicopters scrambling to evacuate the wounded, a testament to the Resistance’s effective strikes. In a separate operation, Al-Qassam fighters detonated powerful roadside explosives, targeting a Merkava tank and a D9 military bulldozer in the same area, further crippling Israel’s military presence.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), joined forces with Al-Qassam in coordinated operations on Tuesday. In a joint attack, fighters shelled an Israeli military gathering east of Khuza’a, north of Khan Younis, with multiple mortar shells. In another operation, Al-Quds Brigades detonated a shock-activated explosive device, successfully targeting an Israeli military vehicle near Street 5 in northern Khan Younis, showcasing the Resistance’s tactical precision.
These operations reflect the unwavering resolve of Palestinian Resistance factions to repel Israel’s brutal incursions into Gaza, which have continued unabated since October 7, 2023. Amid Israel’s U.S.-backed genocidal war—marked by systematic killings, starvation policies, a suffocating siege, and forced displacement—the Resistance’s actions have inflicted significant casualties and damage on occupation forces. Gaza’s health officials report that Israel’s campaign has killed over 189,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and left more than 11,000 missing under rubble, with famine claiming countless lives, including children.
Hamas and PIJ have condemned Israel’s actions as a deliberate genocide, with Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Obeida praising Gaza’s fighters as “the most valiant of the modern era” for their relentless defense against an occupying force backed by overwhelming military might. The Resistance’s operations, including ambushes and missile strikes, highlight Israel’s failure to crush Palestinian resolve despite nearly two years of aggression. Israeli media reports expose a strategic crisis within the occupation forces, with mounting losses and internal disputes over the war’s direction, as the Resistance continues to outmaneuver and outfight Israel’s military in Khan Younis and beyond.
As Gaza’s 2.3 million people endure unimaginable suffering—facing bombardment, starvation, and a lack of essential services—the Palestinian Resistance remains a beacon of defiance, fighting to protect their homeland and demand justice. International calls for an end to Israel’s atrocities grow louder, with over 130 NGOs, including Doctors Without Borders, condemning Israel’s “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” as a deadly scheme that forces Palestinians to choose between starvation and gunfire at aid sites. The Resistance’s actions send a clear message: despite Israel’s relentless violence, the Palestinian spirit of resistance will not be broken. (ILKHA)
