Russian-Kazakh trade delegation explores investment opportunities in Afghanistan
High-level discussions are underway to strengthen economic cooperation among Afghanistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, with officials and business representatives seeking to expand trade, investment, and joint ventures across key sectors.
Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), recently hosted a joint trade delegation from Russia and Kazakhstan to discuss new opportunities for economic collaboration.
According to the ACCI, the talks focused on enhancing bilateral and trilateral partnerships in the mining, industrial, agricultural, and manufacturing sectors, areas viewed as having significant potential for long-term investment and economic growth.
During the meeting, members of the Russian-Kazakh delegation expressed strong interest in Afghanistan's largely untapped investment opportunities, highlighting the country's natural resources and strategic location as attractive prospects for regional business cooperation.
The delegates also disclosed that more than 100 Russian entrepreneurs have expressed their intention to visit Afghanistan in the near future to conduct on-site assessments of investment opportunities and explore potential partnerships with Afghan businesses.
The planned visit is expected to facilitate direct engagement between investors and Afghan companies, with discussions likely to cover joint ventures, industrial development, and trade expansion.
The initiative reflects growing efforts by Afghanistan and regional partners to deepen economic ties through increased private-sector cooperation, investment, and cross-border commercial engagement. (ILKHA)
