Tehran denies reports of launching ballistic missiles on Kurdistan
An informed source has strongly dismissed social media and media reports claiming that Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) fired ballistic missiles from western Iran toward Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.
The source told Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency that allegations of IRGC ballistic missile launches from the western provinces of Khorramabad, Ilam, and Kermanshah targeting Iraqi Kurdistan and border areas “are incorrect and unfounded.”
The denial comes after unverified reports circulated widely on Saturday night alleging that the IRGC had conducted a missile strikes against separatist groups inside western Iran and in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region.
No official statement has been issued by the IRGC or Iran’s Defense Ministry regarding the alleged operation, and no explosions or impacts have been independently confirmed in the reported target areas.
Iranian authorities routinely reject claims of cross-border military actions unless officially announced through state channels. (ILKHA)
