Türkiye expresses condolences over deadly wildfires in South Korea

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the deadly wildfires that have been raging across the Republic of Korea since last week, resulting in multiple casualties and widespread destruction.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives, injuries, and destruction caused by the wildfires that have been ongoing in the Republic of Korea,” the ministry said in its official press release.
The statement conveyed Türkiye’s heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the people and government of South Korea. “We extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the people of the Republic of Korea, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” it added.
The wildfires, which have swept through several regions in South Korea, have prompted large-scale evacuations and emergency response operations, with firefighters battling to contain the blazes amid strong winds and dry conditions.
