Ukraine's parliament voted to approve the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, with 258 lawmakers supporting the motion.
The parliamentary decision resulted in the collective resignation of the Ukrainian government in line with constitutional procedures.
President Volodymyr Zelensky had announced over the weekend that he intended to reshuffle the government.
Following a meeting with Svyrydenko, Zelensky said Ukraine needed a new cabinet, adding that the planned personnel changes were aimed at implementing the country's updated political strategy.
He said the incoming government would focus on accelerating preparations for the upcoming winter, restructuring state-owned enterprises, and advancing reconstruction efforts with international partners.
Confirming her resignation in a post on X, Svyrydenko thanked Zelensky for his confidence, saying, "It has been an honor to lead the government during one of the most difficult periods in Ukraine's modern history."
Svyrydenko assumed office as prime minister on July 17, 2025, succeeding Denys Shmyhal, who currently serves as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
Ukraine's parliament is expected to consider the nomination of a new prime minister and the proposed cabinet in the coming days. (ILKHA)
