Yemeni forces down US drone over Hajjah

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) achieved another significant victory in their defensive campaign against foreign aggression on Tuesday, announcing the successful downing of a US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone off the coast of Hajjah province.
The operation, carried out with a domestically produced surface-to-air missile, is part of Yemen’s ongoing resistance against illegal violations of its airspace by American forces.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed the operation in a televised briefing. The downed drone marks the seventh US MQ-9 Reaper destroyed in April and the 22nd since the launch of the “Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad” campaign—a wide-ranging military and moral initiative that reaffirms Yemen’s role in defending its sovereignty and supporting the oppressed people of Palestine.
Heroic Operations Target US Military Aggressors
General Saree revealed that in addition to downing the drone, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out two precision military operations targeting the USS Harry S. Truman and USS Carl Vinson, along with their accompanying warships, in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea. These strikes, conducted with cruise missiles and drones, come as part of Yemen’s legitimate and escalating response to repeated US aggression and unlawful presence in regional waters.
"Yemen’s military capabilities have developed significantly," Saree declared. "We have learned from every battle and have succeeded in disrupting the enemy’s operations, defeating their attempts to control our skies and seas."
Solidarity with Palestine: Resistance Beyond Borders
In an extension of Yemen’s revolutionary support for the Palestinian people, Saree confirmed two drone attacks against Zionist targets in occupied Palestine—one on a critical facility in Askalan, and another in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat). These strikes, he emphasized, are in line with Yemen's firm position to resist oppression and respond to the Zionist entity’s continued atrocities in Gaza.
“We will not cease our support for the oppressed Palestinian people,” Saree vowed, “until the brutal aggression on Gaza ends and the inhumane siege is lifted.”
US Airstrikes Kill Civilians, Devastate Yemen’s Capital
While the Yemeni people resist with courage and discipline, the US continues to rain terror on civilian areas across Yemen. In the past 48 hours, US warplanes have launched dozens of airstrikes on residential neighborhoods in Sanaa, Marib, and Hodeidah.
On Monday, the Farwah neighborhood and a bustling local market in the Shu’ub District of Sanaa were targeted, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 civilians, including women and children, and injuries to at least 30 others, according to the Ministry of Health.
The airstrikes also targeted the Barash area near Jabal Nuqm, al-Mahjar in Khawlan, and Tuhayta district in Hodeidah, where 25 raids were recorded. Kamaran Island was bombarded, and additional strikes were reported across Majzar, Sirwah, and al-Abdiyah districts in Marib Governorate.
A Nation That Will Not Bow
Despite relentless US-led bombardment and an economic blockade, the Yemeni people and their armed forces remain steadfast. Their resistance, both strategic and symbolic, continues to grow in strength and legitimacy.
The downing of American drones and the targeting of Zionist and US warships reflect a new era in Yemen’s defense—a message to the world that Yemen will neither submit to foreign domination nor remain silent in the face of injustice.
As the world watches, Yemen stands tall—as a defender of its land, a voice for the oppressed, and a beacon of steadfast resistance in the heart of the Arab and Islamic world. (ILKHA)
