Yemeni Forces target oil tankers in Red Sea and Mediterranean over Israeli ties

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF), announced multiple operations targeting crude oil tankers in strategic waters, highlighting Yemen's stance against Israeli occupation and in support of Palestine.
In the Red Sea, the YAF conducted coordinated attacks on two crude oil tankers. The BENTLEY I oil products tanker was targeted with unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), suicide drones, and ballistic missiles in a joint operation involving the YAF's Navy, Rocket Force, and Unmanned Air Force on Monday. Another tanker, the CHIOS LION, was struck by a USV, according to Saree, citing violations of Yemen's embargo on Israeli occupation.
Meanwhile, maritime security company UKMTO reported incidents involving tankers near al-Hudaydah, Yemen. One vessel was attacked by a USV causing damage and light smoke, while another faced multiple attacks, including a USV explosion in close proximity.
In the Mediterranean, the YAF, in collaboration with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, targeted the OLIVIA oil tanker. Saree confirmed the operation's success in achieving its objectives.
"The continuation of Israeli aggression against our brothers in Gaza will prompt Yemen's armed forces and leadership to escalate operations in support of the Palestinian people," Saree declared. He emphasized that these actions would persist until the Israeli aggression ends and the siege on Palestine is lifted.
These developments underscore Yemen's proactive stance on regional issues and its support for Palestinian rights amid ongoing conflict dynamics in the Middle East. (ILKHA)
