Turkish Airlines soars to top spot as Europe’s best airline in 2025
Turkish Airlines (THY) has been named the “Best Airline in Europe” for 2025 by the prestigious SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, beating out major competitors including Air France, British Airways, and Lufthansa.
The recognition was determined through millions of passenger reviews worldwide, highlighting THY’s consistency in delivering a superior travel experience in one of the world’s most competitive industries.
Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi celebrated the achievement with a bold message on social media: “We are the champions of Europe. The Best Airline in Europe is Turkish Airlines.”
The award comes at a time when Türkiye’s aviation sector is experiencing rapid growth and rising global influence. According to the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Türkiye ranks sixth in Europe for overall air traffic, managing an average of 4,200 daily flights.
Istanbul Airport continues to assert its dominance as a global aviation hub, operating 1,624 daily flights, making it the busiest airport in Europe and the fifth busiest in the world. Antalya Airport has also secured a place among Europe’s top airports, ranking ninth with 1,024 daily flights.
The SKYTRAX World Airline Awards are widely regarded as the benchmark of excellence in civil aviation, evaluating carriers on passenger feedback covering service quality, comfort, and overall travel experience.
Turkish Airlines’ 2025 triumph not only reinforces its leadership in the aviation industry but also underscores Türkiye’s growing role as a central hub for global air travel. (ILKHA)
