Türkiye and Mongolia target $500 million in bilateral trade, empowering regional cooperation
Turkish Trade Minister Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat met with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir in the capital city of Ankara to discuss a comprehensive roadmap aimed at boosting economic ties rooted in deep cultural bonds and mutual brotherhood.
During the high-level meeting, both officials established a firm collective will to escalate the bilateral trade volume to $500 million in the near term, marking a significant leap from the $104.7 million recorded in 2025.
A new era of brotherhood and win-win partnership
According to the statement released after the meeting, the discussions emphasized a "win-win" principle based on justice and mutual respect. Rather than a purely commercial transaction, the partnership aims to elevate the welfare of both nations by utilizing their historical and spiritual ties as a bridge for economic development.
The delegations extensively evaluated new investment opportunities across a wide array of sectors, including trade, investments, contracting services, free zones, mining, agriculture, livestock, civil aviation, healthcare, tourism, and logistics.
Turkish contractors to join the 'New Karakorum City' project
A major focal point of the bilateral talks was the active participation of Turkish firms in Mongolia's massive infrastructure and superstructure projects. Specifically, the sides highlighted strong cooperation in the development of the "New Karakorum City" project, an ambitious urban initiative aimed at reviving Mongolia's historic capital.
Analysts note that Turkish contracting and consulting companies, globally recognized for their technical expertise, are expected to play a cornerstone role in this historic transformation, providing sustainable solutions for the region's development.
Commitment to strategic stability
Minister Bolat concluded the meeting by expressing his gratitude to Deputy PM Nyamtaishir for his official visit to Ankara. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to transforming these diplomatic steps into concrete projects, aiming to upgrade the current relations into a comprehensive strategic framework that serves regional stability and economic independence.
