Third phase begins for Orphan Foundation orphanage complex in Afghanistan
The Orphan Foundation has launched the third phase of construction of its Orphanage Complex Project in Afghanistan after completing the first two stages, while appealing for continued public support to help bring the project to completion.
The foundation is building the complex to provide orphaned children with safe accommodation, education and opportunities for personal development in Maidan Shahr, the capital of Afghanistan's Maidan Wardak Province.
First two phases completed
Nurullah Hashimi, the Orphan Foundation's Afghanistan field coordinator, said the completion of the second phase marked an important milestone in the project.
"As the Afghanistan Representation of the Orphan Foundation, we are pleased to announce the completion of the second phase of the orphanage complex we are building in Maidan Shahr. Thanks to the support and solidarity of our donors, we have made significant progress and established a solid foundation for the project," Hashimi said.
He added that further assistance would be needed to complete the third phase and enable the complex to reach its planned service capacity.

Appeal for continued support
Hashimi called on individuals, charitable organisations and institutions to contribute financially, logistically or through other forms of support to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
"Every contribution at this stage will play an important role in completing the project within the planned timeframe. We invite everyone who wishes to leave a lasting legacy for orphaned children to support this humanitarian initiative," he said.
Comprehensive centre for orphaned children
According to the foundation, the orphanage complex is being designed as a comprehensive living and educational centre where orphaned children will be able to grow up in a safe environment while continuing their education and preparing for the future.
Once completed, the complex is expected to include a teachers' residence, a health clinic, dormitories, sports facilities and vocational training workshops. In addition to meeting children's accommodation needs, the project aims to support their education, healthcare and personal development through a wide range of social services.
The Orphan Foundation said construction will continue in stages as funding becomes available and reiterated its call for support to complete the remaining phases of the project.(ILKHA)
