Orphans Foundation launches baby formula campaign for infants in Gaza
Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı), a humanitarian organization supporting orphaned children and vulnerable families in Türkiye and abroad, has launched a campaign to provide baby formula to infants facing hunger and malnutrition amid the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The foundation is calling on philanthropists and donors to help meet the nutritional needs of Gaza’s most vulnerable children, setting a target of reaching 5,000 supporters.
Under the campaign, a contribution of 1,000 Turkish liras ($23.50) will provide formula support for one infant, according to the foundation. The initiative aims to mobilize public solidarity to help families struggling to secure essential food for their babies.
In a statement announcing the campaign, Orphans Foundation emphasized that even a modest donation could make a meaningful difference to an infant facing hunger.
“Our objective is to reach 5,000 philanthropists. Formula support for one infant costs 1,000 TL. What may represent the expense of a single meal or a modest sacrifice for us can offer profound hope to a child struggling with hunger in Gaza—hope essential for survival,” the foundation said.
The organization urged donors to join the initiative, highlighting the urgent importance of providing adequate nutrition to infants whose families are enduring severe humanitarian hardship.
“We invite you to join us in alleviating the hunger faced by infants in Gaza. Together, we can bring a smile to a child’s face and restore hope to a mother’s heart,” the statement added.
The foundation also appealed to donors to turn compassion into practical assistance for children and families in need.
“One package of formula, one measure of hope, one act of support, one life touched,” it said, calling for unity and solidarity in support of Gaza’s children.
The campaign reflects the importance of humanitarian assistance for infants, who are particularly vulnerable when access to essential food and nutrition is disrupted. For families facing displacement, shortages and uncertainty, obtaining infant formula can be a critical challenge.
Concluding its appeal, Orphans Foundation prayed that donors’ contributions would bring relief to vulnerable children and their mothers.
“May Allah accept your charitable contributions and transform every act of kindness into a source of hope for these vulnerable infants,” the foundation said. (ILKHA)
