At least nine crew members went missing after a Guinea-Bissau flagged cargo ship with 14 crew members on board sank off Turkey’s Mediterranean coast on Wednesday.
The Joe 2 sank off the coast of Kumluca district in Antalya province while heading to Ukraine from Iskenderun port, Antalya Governor Ersin Yazıcı said.
The Turkish Coast Guard Command said that two crew members were rescued by the coast guard helicopters and three others were saved by other vessels in the area.
The chief prosecutor’s office for Kumluca has launched an investigation into the incident. (ILKHA)
