At least 7 people killed in horrible traffic accident in eastern Türkiye
At least seven people were killed and eight others injured when a truck collided with a passenger bus in Türkiye’s eastern Ağrı province on Monday.
The accident happened at around 14:00 in the Tutak district, according to local reports.
After the collision, both the bus and truck caught fire and many passengers were burnt alive.
Ambulances, police, and fire crews were dispatched to the scene after the accident had been reported to the officials.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Ağrı, local sources reported.
The officers were investigating how the crash happened.
Traffic accidents claim thousands of lives every year in Turkey. According to figures by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), 4,866 people were killed in traffic accidents and another 226,266 people suffered injuries in the country last year.
