Erdoğan to attend Azerbaijan’s victory day ceremony in Baku
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will travel to Azerbaijan on Saturday for an official visit to attend ceremonies commemorating the country's Victory Day, which marks Azerbaijan's triumph in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.
According to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate, President Erdoğan will participate in the official ceremony in Baku on November 8. The visit will also feature a series of high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
During his trip, President Erdoğan is scheduled to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The discussions are expected to center on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing key regional and global developments.
The talks are anticipated to focus on strengthening the strategic trilateral partnership among Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, with particular emphasis on collaboration in defense, trade, and energy sectors. Consultations on ensuring regional stability in the South Caucasus amid ongoing geopolitical shifts are also a key agenda item.
The visit underscores Türkiye's steadfast support for Azerbaijan and highlights the deep strategic alliance between the two nations, often described by their leaders under the motto of "one nation, two states." (ILKHA)
