Liberal Party delegation visits HÜDA PAR for political consultations
Liberal Party Chairman Zübeyir Gülabi, accompanied by a delegation, paid a visit to HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu at the party’s headquarters, where the two leaders discussed current political developments and the significance of maintaining dialogue between political movements.
During the meeting, Yapıcıoğlu underlined that the presence of diverse political perspectives and organized thought across the political spectrum contributes to the country’s democratic vitality and social richness.
“Political diversity and the active participation of various viewpoints in political life are, God willing, a richness for our country,” Yapıcıoğlu said. “Let ideas compete and even clash so that the truth may emerge. If the doors of dialogue remain open and communication continues between individuals and institutions, this will foster closeness over time.”
Yapıcıoğlu added that harmony on every issue is neither possible nor necessary, noting that “where there is convergence, there is no problem. This will, God willing, bring good for our country.”
Emphasizing the value of open-mindedness and wisdom, Yapıcıoğlu quoted a well-known saying: “Wisdom is the lost property of the believer; wherever he finds it, he should take it.” He stressed that different ideas can coexist peacefully if mutual respect and freedom of thought are upheld.
“Even those who do not share certain opinions should defend others’ right to express their views,” he said. “If this is achieved, peace and tranquility will spread across the country. No one is the sole owner of the truth — together, we strive to spread and develop it.”
In his concluding remarks, Yapıcıoğlu warned against prioritizing superficiality over substance, saying, “When the essence is lost, people begin to focus on the shell, the clothes, the appearance. This is not a good thing; it causes loss.”
Following the meeting, Liberal Party Chairman Zübeyir Gülabi congratulated HÜDA PAR on its new headquarters and shared the background of his party’s recent leadership transition.
“When Mr. Besim put the Liberal Democratic Party on hold, our friends established this party so that liberals would not withdraw from politics,” Gülabi said. “I took over the administration at the beginning of 2024, and we have been continuing our efforts ever since.”
The meeting was viewed as a positive example of constructive political dialogue and mutual respect among parties with differing ideological perspectives. (ILKHA)
