German Chancellor Merkel to pay a visit to Turkey

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany will pay a working visit to Turkey on Saturday at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish presidency announced in a statement on Friday.
“All aspects of the bilateral relations between Turkey and Germany as well as possible steps for the further strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries will be discussed during the talks to be held in Istanbul,” the statement said.
Turkey-European Union relations as well as regional and international issues, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan in particular, will be on the agenda of the talks as well, according to the statement. (ILKHA)
