HÜDA PAR's Foreign Affairs Department has expressed its condolences following the deadly floods in eastern Afghanistan's Nuristan Province, calling on Islamic countries to strengthen support for the Afghan people and accelerate efforts to help rebuild the country.

In a statement released on Thursday, the party said at least 20 people lost their lives in the flooding and offered prayers for the victims and those injured in the disaster.

"We ask Allah to have mercy on our Afghan brothers who lost their lives in this tragic disaster and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the statement said.

HÜDA PAR argued that Afghanistan continues to suffer disproportionately high casualties during natural disasters because of inadequate infrastructure, limited search-and-rescue capacity and insufficient humanitarian response capabilities.

The party stated that years of conflict have left the country vulnerable to earthquakes, floods and other emergencies.

According to the statement, Afghanistan's ability to respond to disasters has been severely weakened by decades of war, damaged infrastructure and economic difficulties.

HÜDA PAR also called for the release of Afghanistan's frozen financial assets, arguing that access to these resources would strengthen the country's reconstruction efforts and improve its capacity to respond to humanitarian crises.

The statement maintained that Afghanistan's economic recovery has been hindered by international restrictions, making it more difficult for authorities to rebuild infrastructure and provide emergency assistance following natural disasters.

The party further urged regional countries to officially recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, saying that greater diplomatic engagement would contribute to the country's political and economic stability.

HÜDA PAR called on Islamic countries to expand diplomatic, economic, political and humanitarian cooperation with Afghanistan, describing support for the Afghan people as both a humanitarian responsibility and an expression of Islamic solidarity.

The statement also urged the international community to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and support Afghanistan's reconstruction efforts without allowing political disputes to impede aid operations.

Concluding its message, HÜDA PAR emphasized that rebuilding Afghanistan and improving its resilience against future natural disasters requires sustained international cooperation.

The party said strengthening infrastructure, expanding humanitarian assistance and supporting long-term development projects would be essential to reducing the impact of future disasters and improving living conditions for the Afghan people. (ILKHA)
