The Palestine Convoy has reached Türkiye after completing the European leg of its humanitarian solidarity journey, entering the country through the İpsala Border Gate in Edirne before being welcomed by supporters and civil society representatives.

The convoy, which aims to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and draw international attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, was greeted with messages of unity, determination and hope as it crossed into Türkiye.

Organizers described the arrival as a significant milestone in the mission, saying that each border crossed brings the convoy one step closer to Palestine.

Hundreds gather at Istanbul solidarity meeting

Following the reception at the border, participants traveled to Istanbul, where an international public gathering was held from 19:00 to 22:00 at Başakşehir Square.

The event brought together convoy participants, humanitarian organizations, civil society groups, community leaders, and members of the public in a demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Speakers at the gathering highlighted the worsening humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and called for greater international efforts to protect civilians, uphold international law and defend human dignity.

Organizers said the Istanbul meeting represented one of the largest stages of the convoy's journey, bringing together participants from multiple countries before the mission continues toward the Middle East.

Journey continues toward Türkiye-Iraq border

Following the public gathering, convoy participants will spend the night at Kayaşehir Park, where supporters joined the mission by setting up tents and camping alongside the international delegation.

The convoy is scheduled to depart Istanbul on 31 July, traveling first toward Sakarya before continuing its overland journey toward the Türkiye-Iraq border.

Organizers said supporters wishing to accompany the mission are welcome to join the convoy using their own vehicles as it proceeds along its planned route.

Organizers call for continued public support

The Palestine Convoy has called on media organizations, humanitarian groups, civil society organizations and people around the world to follow the mission, amplify its message and support its humanitarian objectives.

Journalists have been invited to cover the convoy's activities throughout Türkiye, including its arrival, public events and continued journey eastward.

Organizers said further updates on the convoy's route and upcoming activities will be shared through its official communication channels.

Growing international campaign for Palestine

The convoy's arrival in Türkiye comes amid expanding international solidarity efforts in support of the Palestinian people.

Since the beginning of the humanitarian mission, activists from numerous European countries have joined the overland convoy to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to advocate for the protection of civilians, unrestricted humanitarian access and respect for international law.
