"Operation Thunderbolt-1 Cudi" launched against PKK in southeastern Turkey
Turkish security forces have launched an operation in Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province, the country's Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Deputy Interior Minister Mehmet Ersoy and General Commander of the Gendarmerie Gen. Arif Cetin announced the launch of the operation during a press briefing in Mount Cudi.
The ongoing conflict between Turkey and PKK has resulted in nearly forty thousand deaths since 1984 when PKK waged an insurgency against Turkish State. (ILKHA)
