Prophet Lovers lFoundation launches annual competition to promote Prophet Muhammad’s life
The Prophet Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı) has officially launched applications for its annual Sīrah Competition, inviting Muslims of all ages to deepen their knowledge of Prophet Muhammad’s (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed life and follow his exemplary character.
Held under the theme “Read Him, Live Him,” this year’s competition began accepting applications on November 2. Organisers have also increased the number of ‘Umrah awards to ten, alongside a wide range of other prizes for successful participants.
Mehmet Emin Sütçü, chairman of the foundation’s Sīrah Competition Commission, announced that preparations for the new season had been completed, with the competition once again expected to attract widespread participation.
The annual initiative aims to familiarise people from all walks of life, particularly younger generations, with the life, noble character and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), encouraging them to make his Sunnah a guiding principle in their daily lives.
‘Humanity's Need for the Messenger of Mercy Grows Every Day’
Emphasising the growing importance of studying the Prophet’s life, Sütçü said humanity increasingly needs to understand the guidance and exemplary character of the Messenger of Mercy.
He explained that the foundation organises the competition every year to introduce the Prophet’s blessed life to all segments of society, especially young people, and encourage them to follow his example.
Under this year’s theme, “Read Him, Live Him,” the foundation seeks not only to promote reading about the Prophet (PBUH), but also to inspire participants to embody his noble character and apply his Sunnah in their everyday lives.
Sütçü said the competition had become a meaningful tradition embraced by millions, adding that the new season officially commenced on November 2.
Competition to Be Held in Four Categories
The foundation has organised the competition in four separate categories to ensure that participants from different age groups can benefit from studying the Prophet’s life.
According to Sütçü, specially selected books have been prepared for each category, allowing participants to study material appropriate to their age groups before competing within their respective divisions.
The initiative is intended to make knowledge of the Prophet’s life accessible to the entire community, from children and young people to adults.
Ten ‘Umrah Awards and Additional Prizes
Announcing this year’s awards, Sütçü said the foundation had increased the number of ‘Umrah packages to ten to further encourage participation in the competition.
Participants who achieve top rankings in their respective categories will receive a variety of prizes, including ‘Umrah trips, laptop computers, tablets, bicycles, book collections and other gifts.
In addition, 40 participants will be selected through a lottery, regardless of their ranking, to receive one gram of gold each.
However, Sütçü stressed that the greatest reward was not the material prizes but the opportunity to learn about the Prophet’s blessed life, adopt his noble character and strengthen one's commitment to the straight path.
Invitation to Muslims of All Ages
Calling on the entire community to take part, Sütçü said the universal message and guidance of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) offer a way forward amid the moral and social challenges confronting humanity.
He invited parents, young people and children—from seven to seventy—to participate in the competition and benefit from the spiritual atmosphere it seeks to foster.
Detailed information about applications, where to obtain the competition books and the examination calendar will be published through the foundation’s official website and social media accounts.
Concluding his remarks, Sütçü called on the Prophet-loving community to take part, bring the light of the Messenger (PBUH) into their homes and make his exemplary life a source of guidance for their families and society.
He also prayed that the competition would become a means of abundant goodness and benefit for the Muslim community. (ILKHA)
