Turkish and Iranian top diplomats discuss potential US-Iran deal
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, discussing the recently reached agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
During the call, Fidan welcomed the agreement and expressed hope that the remaining talks needed to finalize the process would conclude successfully.
He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against any attempts to undermine or sabotage the agreement and reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for efforts aimed at strengthening peace, stability and security in the region.
According to sources familiar with the conversation, Fidan reiterated Ankara’s commitment to contributing to diplomatic initiatives and regional stability through dialogue and peaceful engagement.
Araghchi thanked Türkiye for its contribution to the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran, the sources said.
The conversation came amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to formalize the agreement, which has been widely viewed as a significant step toward reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region. (ILKHA)
