Erdoğan and Putin hold phone call focused on Ukraine war and bilateral relations
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing key bilateral issues as well as regional and global developments, including the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
According to the Turkish Presidency, the two leaders reviewed the current state of Türkiye-Russia relations and exchanged views on steps to strengthen cooperation. The conflict in Ukraine featured prominently in the discussion, with President Erdoğan reiterating Ankara’s commitment to pursuing a just and lasting peace.
Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye will continue its diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war, noting that Ankara remains ready—as in previous stages of the conflict—to contribute to any initiatives or proposals that promote direct dialogue between the parties.
He underscored that Türkiye stands prepared to support all diplomatic channels that could facilitate meaningful contact between Russia and Ukraine and help establish enduring stability and peace in the region. (ILKHA)
