Foreign ministers from 11 countries, including Türkiye, have strongly condemned recent airstrikes carried out by the Israeli regime against Syria, warning that the attacks represent a serious escalation and threaten regional stability.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers described the Israeli regime’s strikes targeting the Abu al-Duhur Military Air Base in northwestern Syria as a “highly dangerous escalation” and said the attacks constitute a clear violation of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and political unity.

The statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Algeria, Indonesia, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia and Saudi Arabia.

The ministers expressed deep concern over the continued targeting and destruction of Syrian territory and infrastructure, saying such actions risk undermining efforts to restore security, rebuild national institutions and address the humanitarian consequences of years of conflict.

They warned that continued violations of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity could further increase tensions, undermine regional peace and stability, and weaken respect for international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The statement called on the international community to take a clear and principled position against the attacks on Syria and to take concrete measures in line with international law and the UN Charter.

The ministers also called for full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and urged the withdrawal of Israeli regime forces from occupied areas to prevent further escalation and preserve regional stability.

Reaffirming their support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and political unity, the ministers rejected all attempts to undermine these principles.(ILKHA)
