15 Palestinians martyred in Gaza in 48 hours as occupation regime attacks continue
The number of Palestinians martyred in Gaza has continued to rise as the occupation regime’s attacks and violations persist, with 15 people killed and 38 others injured over the past 48 hours, according to the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health.
The ministry said in a statement that the bodies of 15 martyrs and 38 injured Palestinians were brought to hospitals during the latest 48-hour period.
According to the ministry’s figures, the number of martyrs since the start of the occupation regime’s attacks has reached 74,609, while the number of injured has risen to 175,872.
The ministry said that since the ceasefire that came into effect on 11 October 2025, 1,593 Palestinians have been martyred and 5,748 others injured.
It also reported that the bodies of 847 martyrs had been recovered during the same period.
The ministry noted that the number of martyrs continues to increase as rescue teams keep recovering bodies from under the rubble, reflecting that the human cost of the war has continued even after the announcement of the ceasefire.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a report published on 29 October that raids, bombardments and armed attacks by the occupation regime continued in Gaza, along with violations and demolition operations near the “Yellow Line.”
October casualties highlight ongoing humanitarian crisis
The Gaza Strip Ministry of Health said that during October alone, 143 Palestinians were martyred, including 23 children, 11 women and two elderly people.
The ministry also documented 674 injuries during the same month, including 190 children, 129 women and 32 elderly people.
The ministry said that since the beginning of the ceasefire in October 2025, the total number of violations committed by the occupation regime had reached 1,583 martyrs and 5,696 injured people.
Among those killed during this period were 348 children, 154 women and 50 elderly people, while the injured included 1,731 children, 966 women and 226 elderly people.
The continued recovery of bodies from destroyed buildings and the ongoing attacks have added to Gaza’s already severe humanitarian situation, with international agencies warning of continued risks to civilians amid damaged infrastructure and displacement.
Gaza continues to face destruction and displacement
The latest figures come as humanitarian organisations continue to report widespread damage across Gaza, including destruction of homes, disruption of essential services and difficulties in providing aid to civilians.
OCHA has reported that Israeli airstrikes, shelling and gunfire have continued to cause civilian casualties in Gaza, while displacement and shortages of essential supplies remain major concerns.
Despite the ceasefire, the recovery of bodies from under rubble and reports of continued violations have kept the civilian death toll rising.(ILKHA)
