21 Palestinians detained in Al-Khalil, three-family home seized for military use
Occupation forces detained 21 Palestinians during raids in Dura town of Al-Khalil and later released them after interrogation, while a home housing three families in Al-Burj village was forcibly seized and converted into a military post.
Local sources said occupation forces carried out raids on several homes in Dura town, southwest of Al-Khalil, searching houses and damaging belongings before detaining 21 Palestinians and taking them to an unknown location.
Among those detained were journalist Montaser Nassar and Iyad Rayan Al-Sharawneh, the secretary of the Fatah movement in southern Al-Khalil.
Palestinians released after interrogation
Local sources later reported that all of those detained were released after being subjected to interrogation and ill-treatment.
The raids were part of a broader escalation of occupation forces’ measures in Al-Khalil, where residents have reported repeated home raids, detentions and restrictions on movement.
Family home seized and turned into military post
In Al-Burj village, south of Al-Khalil, occupation forces forced the family of Abdul Jalil Khalil Al-Talahma to leave their home.
The house, where three families including mostly children were living, was then seized and converted into a military post.
Occupation forces have also increased military measures across Al-Khalil, placing barriers at entrances to cities, towns, villages and refugee camps.
Main and secondary roads have been closed with iron gates, concrete blocks and earth barriers, further restricting the movement of residents in the area.
Repeated raids, detentions and road closures continue to affect daily life for Palestinians in Al-Khalil.(ILKHA)
