Afghan Foreign Minister meets Hamas leadership in Doha

Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a significant meeting with Ismail Darwish, Chairman of the Hamas Leadership Council, and other members of the council in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday.
The meeting focused on strengthening ties between Afghanistan and the Palestinian resistance and further underscored Afghanistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
During the meeting, which included prayers for the martyrs of Gaza, Minister Muttaqi praised the courage and resilience of the Palestinian Mujahidin in their ongoing struggle against Israeli aggression. He strongly condemned Israel’s actions, describing them as acts of genocide and inhumane.
“The Afghan people support the legitimate struggles of our brotherly Palestinian people and wish them success in their endeavors,” Muttaqi stated, reiterating Afghanistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The meeting comes at a time when Gaza is enduring a humanitarian catastrophe, and international support for Palestinian resistance movements continues to grow. Afghanistan’s diplomatic engagement with Hamas signals a continued commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights and opposing Israeli policies on the international stage.
This development highlights Afghanistan’s consistent stance of supporting Palestinian sovereignty and resistance against Israeli occupation, and it further solidifies the country’s role as a diplomatic ally to Palestinian groups in their fight for self-determination. (ILKHA)
