European Orphan Hand distributes food aid to hundreds of families in Burundi

The European Orphan Hand Association has extended a hand of solidarity to hundreds of families in Burundi during the holy month of Ramadan, distributing food parcels with the support of generous philanthropists.
As the East African nation grapples with widespread poverty and the aftermath of natural disasters, the aid has brought much-needed relief to vulnerable communities. Priority was given to orphaned families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. The parcels, containing essential food items, were personally delivered by volunteers of the association.
“We carried not only parcels but also brotherhood,” said Nizamettin Aygan, a volunteer with the organization. “These food packages are not just about feeding the hungry. They are about warming hearts and bringing hope. In every tear of a mother and every smile of a child, we felt the deep value of this mission.”
Aygan explained that the group aims to deliver at least two weeks’ worth of food to 350 families, with plans to expand the operation to reach thousands more. The effort is supported by a local partner organization, which has helped identify families most in need.
“This is a trust from our donors. We are here as helpers of the oppressed and voiceless,” Aygan added. “We will continue our Ramadan initiatives — distributing iftar meals, zakat, and festive clothing — not only in Burundi but across many oppressed regions around the world.”
The European Orphan Hand Association expressed gratitude to all those who contributed during this sacred time and reaffirmed its commitment to making a global impact, driven by the belief that: “If the orphan smiles, the world will be beautiful.” (ILKHA)
