Gaza toll rises: 65 dead, 315 wounded in latest Israeli attacks

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen as Israeli air and ground assaults intensified over the past 24 hours, killing at least 65 Palestinians and injuring 315 others, according to local medical sources.
Health officials in Gaza report that the death toll from Israel’s military campaign, which began in October 2023, has now reached a staggering 55,362, with more than 128,741 people wounded. The majority of the victims are women and children, underscoring the devastating impact on the civilian population.
Since Israel resumed its military operations on March 18 following a brief two-month truce, at least 5,071 Palestinians have been killed, and over 16,700 others have been injured, according to the same sources.
Emergency crews remain overwhelmed and unable to reach numerous areas where victims are trapped beneath the rubble or lying in the streets. Health authorities accuse Israeli forces of deliberately targeting ambulance teams and civil defense units, severely hindering rescue and medical operations.
Despite repeated calls by the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) demanding action to prevent genocide and alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian conditions, Israel's offensive continues unabated.
Human rights organizations and international observers have condemned the scale of the destruction and called for urgent global intervention to protect civilians and enforce international law.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with hospitals operating beyond capacity, shortages of food, water, and medical supplies, and over 1.7 million people displaced amid the ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
