Hamas slams Israel's deadly Gaza airstrikes during Eid al-Adha

The Hamas Movement has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation army’s intensified bombing campaign on civilian homes across the Gaza Strip during the Eid al-Adha holiday, which has resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians in just two days.
The movement accused Israel of continuing its ongoing genocidal war against the Palestinian people with full impunity.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Hamas described the airstrikes as a deliberate escalation of massacres targeting entire families and neighborhoods, even as Palestinians attempted to observe one of Islam’s holiest celebrations under siege.
“This reflects a clear and calculated insistence on continuing the brutal, genocidal war that has been waged for more than 20 months,” the statement read. “The Israeli occupation government continues its flagrant defiance of international resolutions, humanitarian charters, and basic human decency.”
Among the most horrific attacks, the movement highlighted the complete destruction of a residential building in Gaza that housed the al-Khader family — resulting in the killing of over 40 of its members, including doctors, engineers, and children. The massacre has sent shockwaves throughout the enclave, adding to the trauma of a population already devastated by relentless bombardment, siege, and starvation.
“This was not a military strike. This was the extermination of a family,” the Hamas statement said.
Hamas called on the international community, particularly Arab and Islamic nations, to break their silence and take urgent, concrete steps to stop what it described as Israel’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and war crimes against the Palestinian people.
The group accused global powers of complicity through inaction and selective application of international law, warning that failure to halt the bloodshed would only embolden Israel’s occupation and deepen regional instability.
As the death toll in Gaza surpasses 54,000, with tens of thousands more injured and displaced, the humanitarian crisis continues to spiral. Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble, hospitals lie in ruins, and Gaza’s children grow up surrounded by loss and destruction.
Despite this, Israeli airstrikes continue to pound civilian areas with impunity, as the international community largely fails to intervene in any meaningful way.
“We call on all free peoples of the world to raise their voices and demand justice,” the Hamas statement concluded. “The Palestinian people will not be erased — and their struggle will continue until freedom is won.” (ILKHA)
