Iran warns US against military adventurism, vows more destructive response
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned the United States against any military “adventurism” against Iran, saying Tehran would deploy more destructive weapons if a new conflict breaks out.
IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohsen Mohebbi said Iranian missile warheads used in a potential future war would be significantly more destructive than those deployed in previous conflicts.
“The warheads used in Iran’s missiles are far more destructive than those used in previous wars,” Mohebbi said, according to Iranian media reports.
He added that Iran’s military capabilities and weapons would be “completely different” in all respects if another war were to begin.
The warning came amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington and followed remarks attributed to US President Donald Trump regarding alleged backchannel contacts between Washington and IRGC officials.
Mohebbi dismissed Trump’s claim that the United States was holding secret talks with IRGC officials, describing the assertion as unfounded.
“Trump’s mental fantasies will not help him on the field,” the IRGC spokesman said.
Mohebbi maintained that Washington’s only viable option was to accept defeat and comply with conditions set by Iran, while warning that any new military confrontation would face a stronger Iranian response.
His remarks underscore Tehran’s continued emphasis on deterrence and its stated readiness to use expanded military capabilities in response to any attack.
The IRGC is one of Iran’s principal military forces and plays a central role in the country’s defense and regional security policy. (ILKHA)
