IRGC commander: Resistance Front has united against US and Israeli aggression across the region
The IRGC Quds Force commander warned Washington against underestimating the capabilities and strategic reach of the Resistance Front, saying its influence extends far beyond the range of its weapons.
Major General Esmaeil Ghaani, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, said Wednesday that resistance forces across the region had formed a united front against what he described as US and Israeli aggression.
In an interview published by the Sepah News website, Ghaani cautioned Washington against miscalculating the capabilities of the Resistance Front, stressing that its strategic depth could not be measured solely by the range of its weapons.
“Today, the entire Resistance is one front with unity across different arenas,” Ghaani said, warning US leaders that they must take into account the broader strategic reach of the resistance movements rather than focusing only on their military capabilities.
He added that any confrontation involving Iran and its allies could extend beyond the Strait of Hormuz to other strategic waterways in the region.
“Otherwise, you will end up fighting a war with weapons in the Strait of Hormuz while facing the opening of the Bab el-Mandeb through Resistance,” he said.
Ghaani also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of drawing US President Donald Trump into a war against Iran, arguing that Washington had underestimated the consequences of such a confrontation.
According to the Quds Force commander, the conflict had undermined America's standing and resulted in a strategic setback for Washington in the Strait of Hormuz.
He said Washington's continued insistence on its position over the strategic waterway had prompted what he called the “smart Resistance Front” to raise the possibility of extending pressure to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Ghaani further warned that, in line with the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the united Resistance Front was capable of inflicting significant losses on the United States through carefully calculated actions, both on the ground and across its wider strategic depth, if Washington continued what he described as its “gambling behavior” in the war.
