Israeli airstrikes kill 14 Palestinian civilians in Gaza as aggression escalates

Israeli airstrikes targeted residential areas in Gaza last night, killing at least 14 Palestinian civilians, including women and children, and leaving several others injured.
The deadly assault took place in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, when Israeli warplanes bombed a home belonging to the Awad family on Kashkou Street, turning it into rubble. Emergency teams are still working to recover survivors, as many remain trapped under the debris.
In another attack, Israeli fighter jets targeted a gathering of civilians in Shawka, east of Rafah, killing two people. Additionally, two members of the Al-Breem family, including a child, were injured when Israeli warplanes struck their home in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.
Simultaneously, violent explosions rocked the North Gaza Governorate and the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah, following the destruction of multiple residential buildings by Israeli forces. Gunfire from Israeli military vehicles was also reported in the Azbat Aed Rabbo area east of Jabalia and the northern regions of Beit Lahiya.
This latest escalation is part of Israel’s ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza, which has claimed the lives of at least 50,208 Palestinians since October 2023, with more than 113,910 others injured. Thousands are feared to be trapped under the rubble, with emergency and civil defense teams unable to reach them due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
Despite global calls for an immediate ceasefire and pressure from international bodies such as the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice to end the atrocities and prevent further genocide, Israel continues its violent onslaught. This ongoing aggression is a clear violation of international law, targeting innocent civilians and causing immeasurable suffering to the Palestinian people. The international community must hold Israel accountable for these war crimes and demand an end to the siege and occupation of Palestine. (ILKHA)
