Israeli occupation forces continued their large-scale military raid on Qalandiya refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, for a second consecutive day on Thursday, carrying out widespread home invasions, demolitions, and restrictions on medical access.

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli forces demolished several commercial shops near the Qalandiya military checkpoint after sealing off the main road, bringing civilian movement and economic activity in the area to a complete halt.

The Governorate said occupation forces also imposed a dawn curfew on the nearby town of Kafr Aqab, using loudspeakers to order residents indoors while closing major roads and intersections leading to occupied Jerusalem, including Al-Maahad Street. The measures were enforced amid a heavy military deployment that left residents confined to their neighborhoods.

Palestinian officials accused Israeli forces of deliberately obstructing emergency medical services during the ongoing assault.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams treated at least 10 Palestinians injured during the raids and succeeded in evacuating several patients despite severe restrictions imposed by Israeli troops.

The organization said Israeli soldiers prevented ambulances from entering Qalandiya refugee camp overnight and forced emergency crews to withdraw before they could reach all those requiring assistance, leaving a number of injured and ill residents without immediate medical care.

The Jerusalem Governorate likewise said occupation forces blocked ambulances from entering the camp and hindered the transfer of patients to hospitals while continuing extensive military operations inside residential neighborhoods.

Witnesses and local officials reported that Israeli troops stormed numerous homes throughout the camp, conducting searches and causing extensive damage to private property.

Among the incidents documented by the Governorate was the raid on the home of Mohammad Jamil Ammar, where Israeli forces allegedly evacuated the family, planted explosives inside the residence, detonated sections of the house, and later detained Ammar.

Additional military reinforcements were deployed to the camp's Market Neighborhood, where occupation forces continued raids and detained several Palestinian youths.

The Governorate said the military operation had entered its 22nd consecutive hour, describing it as part of an expanding campaign targeting Palestinian civilians, their homes, and livelihoods.

The assault on Qalandiya comes as Israeli occupation forces continue a months-long military offensive against the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps in the northern occupied West Bank.

Israeli authorities recently extended military closure orders on the three camps until 30 September, prolonging restrictions that prohibit Palestinians from entering, remaining in, or leaving the areas without special permits issued by the Israeli military. The orders exempt Israeli military and police personnel.

The previous restrictions had been due to expire on 31 July, but were renewed as Israeli forces maintained their operations, preventing thousands of displaced residents from returning to their homes.

Since the Israeli military launched its large-scale offensive on Jenin refugee camp on 21 January 2025, later expanding operations to Tulkarm and Nur Shams, Palestinian communities have faced repeated incursions, widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, mass arrests, and the forced displacement of tens of thousands of residents.

Palestinian officials have warned that Israel's expanding military operations and prolonged sieges are creating an increasingly dire humanitarian situation throughout the occupied West Bank.

They argue that the demolitions, movement restrictions, forced displacement, and repeated raids form part of a broader policy aimed at tightening Israeli control over Palestinian refugee camps while undermining the social and economic fabric of the communities living under occupation.

As military operations continue simultaneously across several refugee camps, humanitarian organizations have renewed calls for the protection of civilians, unhindered access for medical personnel, and respect for international humanitarian law amid growing fears that conditions for Palestinian families will continue to deteriorate.
