Israeli occupation continues home demolitions and airstrikes in Gaza despite ceasefire
The Israeli occupation army is continuing its systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, while simultaneously launching heavy airstrikes on the southern city of Khan Younis, according to local reports.
Local sources reported that military vehicles continue to fire east of Gaza City as Israeli drones patrol the western areas, while warplanes conduct intense air raids on the northern and eastern districts of Khan Younis. Additionally, artillery shelling has been reported in the Zanna area, northeast of the city.
These attacks come despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 11, which Israel has repeatedly violated. Since the agreement, 241 Palestinians have been killed, with 619 others wounded and 528 bodies recovered. These figures bring the total death toll from the ongoing war of extermination that began on October 7, 2023, to 69,176 Palestinians killed and 170,690 injured across Gaza.
Observers emphasize that the continued home demolitions and indiscriminate airstrikes constitute a clear violation of international law, targeting civilian neighborhoods and infrastructure, and deepening the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The relentless attacks have displaced countless families, destroyed homes, and caused widespread fear among Gaza’s civilian population, underscoring the urgent need for international intervention to halt the occupation’s campaign of violence. (ILKHA)
