Israeli occupation forces level Palestinian house in Ramallah

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday demolished a two-story Palestinian home in the town of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah, forcibly displacing two families, according to local officials.
Ni’lin Mayor Yousef al-Khawaja reported that Israeli troops, accompanied by a military bulldozer, raided the Jisr area of the town and demolished the home of Khalil Salama al-Azazmeh. The building housed both his own family and the family of his son, Eid al-Azazmeh.
The demolished structure consisted of two floors, each approximately 160 square meters in size.
Al-Khawaja noted that the Israeli authorities had issued a construction halt notice nearly five years ago, and despite the lack of active building since then, the home was still targeted for demolition.
The incident is part of a broader pattern of home demolitions and property seizures in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians face significant restrictions on building and land use, often under the pretext of lacking Israeli-issued permits—permits that are rarely granted.
No injuries were reported, but the demolition left two extended families homeless and drew condemnation from local officials and rights groups monitoring the situation. (ILKHA)
