Israeli occupation kills two civilians, injures several more in fresh attacks on Gaza
Two Palestinian civilians were martyred and several others injured on Monday evening as Israeli occupation forces continued their deadly attacks across the Gaza Strip, despite the supposed ceasefire that entered into force on October 11.
According to local sources, a civilian succumbed to critical wounds sustained during Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the home of the al-Jarou family west of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. In a separate crime, a Palestinian woman was shot and killed by live ammunition fired from an Israeli drone over Halawa camp in the Jabalia al-Balad area in northern Gaza.
Several more civilians were injured after Israeli drones shelled tents housing displaced families near the al-Omala Market in Gaza City, once again striking some of the most vulnerable people who had already fled their homes in search of safety.
Although a ceasefire was announced on October 11, Israeli aggression has not stopped. Instead, bloodshed has continued unabated, with the overall death toll in Gaza now reaching 70,365 martyrs, the vast majority of whom are women and children. At least 171,058 Palestinians have been injured since the beginning of the assault in October 2023.
The true scale of the catastrophe remains far greater, as countless victims are still trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed homes and buildings, unreachable by ambulance and rescue crews due to ongoing bombardment and severe shortages of equipment.
Medical sources in Gaza reported that over the past 24 hours, five bodies were transferred to hospitals, including two recovered from under the rubble, along with 11 wounded civilians.
Since the ceasefire came into effect, Israeli attacks have killed 376 Palestinians and injured 981 others, while at least 626 bodies have been recovered from destroyed and buried neighborhoods.
Palestinian officials and human rights groups have repeatedly described these ongoing attacks as flagrant violations of international law, warning that the continued targeting of civilians, displaced families, and residential areas constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity, carried out under the silence of the international community.
