Israeli strike kills Palestinian couple as attacks continue across Gaza
A Palestinian couple was killed after Israeli occupation forces struck a residential apartment near Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City early Tuesday, while Palestinian sources reported continued shelling, gunfire and demolition operations across several areas of the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire agreement.
Medical sources identified the victims as Akram Yassin and his wife Dina Yassin, who were killed in the strike. Several other Palestinians were also reported injured in the attack.
Palestinian sources report continued attacks
According to Palestinian media and eyewitnesses, Israeli forces continued military operations in other parts of the Gaza Strip.
In the Al-Iqlimi area of Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, two Palestinians, including a woman, were reportedly injured after Israeli occupation forces opened fire. Palestinian sources also reported heavy artillery shelling and intense gunfire by Israeli military vehicles targeting the eastern parts of Gaza City's Al-Tuffah neighbourhood.
Witnesses further reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out large-scale demolition operations in the eastern and southern areas of Khan Younis, while Israeli warships opened heavy fire toward the Gaza City coastline.
Ceasefire violations continue
The latest incidents came amid continued reports of Israeli ceasefire violations across the Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said artillery shelling, gunfire and the demolition of residential buildings have continued in several areas, posing an ongoing threat to civilians despite the ceasefire remaining officially in effect.
According to figures released by Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have killed more than 1,500 Palestinians and injured over 5,400 others since the truce took effect in October 2025.(ILKHA)
