Lebanese Civil Defence recovers 13 bodies from rubble in southern Lebanon
Lebanese Civil Defence teams have recovered the bodies of 13 people from beneath rubble in the Nabatieh and Marjayoun districts of southern Lebanon, as rescue operations continue in areas hit by recent strikes.
The Civil Defence said its crews were also working to clear both secondary and main roads in Nabatieh, as well as in the towns of Dibbine and Blatt. The efforts aim to remove debris and restore traffic movement in the affected regions.
The recoveries come as the Lebanese Health Ministry reported that the overall death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 has climbed to at least 4,106 people. Another 12,153 individuals have been wounded in the ongoing violence, according to the ministry.
The incidents highlight the continued impact of the conflict on civilian areas in southern Lebanon, where rescue teams are simultaneously handling search-and-recovery operations and infrastructure clearance to aid local communities.
No further details on the identities of the deceased or the precise timing of the strikes that caused the latest rubble were immediately available. (ILKHA)
