Mud volcano reactivates in southeastern Iran, spews mud instead of lava
The Bender Teng mud volcano in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan has become active again, ejecting mud instead of lava in a rare natural phenomenon.
According to Iranian state television, the mud volcano near the city of Konarak was reactivated after being triggered by seasonal monsoon winds, sending mud across the surrounding area.
Instead of molten lava, the volcano expelled large amounts of mud, covering the surrounding area.
Authorities have not announced any injuries or damage, while the event has been described as a rare natural phenomenon.(ILKHA)
