In a separate incident in Nangarhar Province, at least six children lost their lives and seven others were injured over the past 24 hours after heavy rains caused mud-built homes to cave in.

Over the past ten days, severe rainfall and flooding across Afghanistan have left nearly 100 people dead and more than 150 injured, according to available reports.
