The Government Media Office in Gaza revealed that more than 24,000 Palestinian women and children have lost their lives in israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past six months.
According to the office, the israeli army has carried out a staggering 2,922 massacres in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. Among the victims, 14,500 children and 9,560 women were killed, with 7,000 individuals still unaccounted for or trapped under rubble, and 75,577 others sustaining injuries.
The office highlighted that a staggering 73% of those affected by Israeli attacks were women and children, with 17,000 children in Gaza now orphaned or living without one or both parents. Additionally, 30 children have tragically lost their lives due to malnutrition and dehydration amidst severe food shortages.
In addition to civilian casualties, 484 healthcare workers, 140 journalists, and 65 civil defense personnel have also been killed. The dire situation has led to over 11,000 individuals in critical condition requiring treatment abroad, while inadequate healthcare poses a grave risk to 10,000 cancer patients.
Israeli forces have detained 310 healthcare workers and 12 journalists, while 2 million people have been displaced in the Gaza Strip. The extensive damage includes 70,000 houses completely destroyed, 290,000 rendered uninhabitable, and 297 mosques targeted, with 229 destroyed entirely.
Moreover, 159 health institutions were damaged, with 53 health centers and 32 hospitals rendered inoperable, and 126 ambulances left unusable.
The Israeli offensive, sparked by a cross-border attack led by Hamas, has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 32,900, with over 75,000 injured amid widespread destruction and shortages of essential supplies.
Israel's imposition of a crippling blockade on Gaza, particularly affecting northern residents, has exacerbated the crisis, prompting urgent calls for international assistance. The International Court of Justice recently accused Israel of genocide and urged Tel Aviv to take immediate action to prevent famine in Gaza. (ILKHA)
