Russia claims major strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, over 1,200 troops “neutralized”
Russia’s Defense Ministry has announced that its forces carried out a series of strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy and transport infrastructure over the past 24 hours, as hostilities between the two countries continue.
In its daily briefing, the ministry stated that Russian troops struck facilities supporting Ukrainian military operations, along with personnel positions at 138 locations across the country. It also claimed that 1,265 Ukrainian troops were “neutralized” during the reported operations.
According to the statement, Russian forces continued advancing along several front lines and destroyed 14 armored vehicles belonging to Ukrainian forces within the same period.
The ministry further reported that its air defense systems intercepted 10 guided aerial bombs and shot down 418 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Ukraine.
The claims made by Moscow could not be independently verified, and Ukrainian authorities have not immediately responded to the figures.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has witnessed a surge in aerial and artillery exchanges in recent months, with both sides reporting ongoing strikes on military positions and key infrastructure, underscoring the continued intensity of the war. (ILKHA)
