Russia reports downing 107 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions

Russian air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed 107 Ukrainian drones overnight, spanning 10 regions and the Sea of Azov, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Friday.
The barrage, which began at 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 3 (6:00 p.m. GMT) and continued until 5:00 a.m. on April 4 (2:00 a.m. GMT), marked a significant escalation in aerial attacks targeting Russian territory.
The ministry detailed that the heaviest concentrations of drones were neutralized over the Kursk Region, where 34 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were downed, followed by 30 in the Oryol Region and 18 in the Lipetsk Region. Additional interceptions included seven drones over the Kaluga Region, four each over the Rostov Region and the Sea of Azov, three each in the Tambov and Moscow regions, two in the Bryansk Region, and one each in the Voronezh and Tula regions.
Regional governors reported no casualties or damage from the attacks. Oryol Region Governor Andrey Klychkov described the assault on his region as “one of the most massive enemy drone attacks ever,” with air defenses successfully neutralizing all 30 incoming UAVs. Similarly, the governors of Bryansk and Lipetsk regions confirmed via Telegram that their areas sustained no harm, crediting the swift response of air defense forces.
The widespread drone offensive underscores the intensifying use of UAVs in the ongoing conflict, with Russian authorities maintaining heightened vigilance across multiple regions. Further details on the origin or intent of the Ukrainian drone operations were not disclosed by the Defense Ministry. (ILKHA)
