Zhytomyr, a city in northwestern Ukraine with a population of more than 200,000, has faced repeated Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure in recent weeks.
Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities have intensified ahead of the winter months, raising concerns about the impact on heating, electricity and water supplies. Earlier attacks left hundreds of thousands of people in Kyiv and frontline cities facing repeated power and water outages.
Elsewhere, explosions were reported overnight into Friday in Lutsk, a city in northwestern Ukraine, according to local media.
In Poltava Oblast, a drone crash caused an explosion that damaged private homes, other buildings and a power line, regional military administration head Vitalii Diakivnych said on Telegram. No casualties were reported in the initial assessments.
