Three Palestinians killed in Israeli drone attacks on Gaza’s Shujaiyya despite ceasefire
Three Palestinians were killed early Sunday after Israeli occupation forces carried out drone attacks targeting the Shujaiyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, in yet another deadly violation of the ceasefire agreement.
According to local and medical sources, one civilian was killed when an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a group of residents in Shujaiyya. In a separate strike in the same neighborhood, two more civilians were killed after Israeli drones targeted them near the Al-Shawwa fuel station on Al-Mansoura Street.
The latest killings have sparked renewed outrage among Palestinians, who say Israeli forces continue to carry out lethal attacks despite the ceasefire that came into effect on October 11. With the deaths of the three civilians on Sunday, the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire began has risen to 404, while at least 1,108 others have been injured, many of them civilians.
Local sources described the strikes as sudden and unprovoked, adding that Israeli drones have remained active over eastern Gaza neighborhoods, spreading fear among residents and preventing displaced families from returning safely to their homes. Medical teams and civil defense crews rushed to the targeted areas amid difficult conditions, as ongoing surveillance and sporadic attacks continue to endanger rescue efforts.
Palestinian officials and human rights groups have repeatedly condemned Israel’s continued military actions in Gaza, arguing that the repeated drone strikes amount to systematic ceasefire violations and further exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged enclave. They have called on the international community to hold Israel accountable and to take urgent action to protect Palestinian civilians.
Despite repeated assurances of de-escalation, residents of Gaza say the reality on the ground remains one of constant threat, as Israeli attacks persist and the death toll continues to rise even during periods meant to bring calm and relief to the long-suffering population. (ILKHA)
