Tulkarm under siege: Homes deestroyed, residents brutalized in Israeli raids

The Israeli occupation military has continued its relentless assault on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camps for the 82nd consecutive day, with intensified aggression on Nour Shams camp persisting for 69 days, Palestinian media reported on Friday.
According to local sources, the Israeli forces escalated their military operations overnight and into the early hours of Friday, launching sweeping raids across the city of Tulkarm, Nour Shams and Tulkarm refugee camps, and several surrounding neighborhoods. The attacks were accompanied by heavy gunfire, stun grenades, and violent home invasions that left residents terrorized.
In Tulkarm’s city center, Israeli soldiers forced businesses to shut down and assaulted two young men after detaining them inside a store in the western neighborhood. In the city’s southern area, Israeli troops stormed the home of former detainee Shadhai Hussein Ali Odeh, physically assaulted him, and detained him.
Elsewhere, in the Iskan neighborhood, soldiers conducted door-to-door searches, subjected residents to field interrogations, and detained several young men for prolonged periods. Witnesses reported acts of looting, with soldiers allegedly stealing 35,000 shekels, 6,000 Jordanian dinars, mobile chargers, and bottles of perfume from the home of Samir Khreiwesh. His son Hani and nephew Rachad Omar Khreiwesh were reportedly beaten during the raid.
In Nour Shams refugee camp, Israeli troops continued their campaign of violence, opening fire on residential homes in the Jabal al-Nasr area, smashing surveillance cameras, and intensifying efforts to forcibly displace families from both the Jabal al-Nasr and Jabal al-Salihin districts through repeated home invasions.
Since the start of the military aggression, 13 Palestinians have been killed, including a child and two women — one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been wounded or detained.
The brutal campaign has led to the forcible displacement of over 4,000 families from the Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, along with hundreds of residents from the city’s northern district, where homes have been confiscated and turned into military outposts.
The prolonged Israeli military assault on Tulkarm and its refugee camps has caused extensive destruction to infrastructure and civilian property, demolishing 396 homes completely and partially damaging 2,573 others. Roads and alleyways have been blocked with earth mounds, severely restricting movement, while businesses have been looted and vehicles either destroyed or set ablaze, compounding the humanitarian crisis in the region.
