Türkiye condemns Israel regime's actions in Syria, urges withdrawal from occupied territories
Türkiye has strongly condemned the Israel regime's renewed activities along the so-called "Sufa 53 line" in Syria's Quneitra province, accusing it of violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and attempting to create new facts on the ground in Syrian territory.
In a written statement issued on Monday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said it "strongly condemns Israel's erosion of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement by resuming its activities along the so-called 'Sufa 53 line' in Syria's Quneitra province and its attempts to create new facts on the ground in Syria."
Calls for immediate international action
The ministry called on the international community to take effective and decisive steps without delay to end what it described as the Israel regime's expansionist policies, warning that they continue to fuel regional tensions and undermine stability.
It also urged the international community to ensure the Israel regime's withdrawal from the occupied Syrian territories, stressing that such measures are essential for preserving regional peace, security and respect for international law.
Türkiye reaffirms support for Syria's sovereignty
Reiterating its longstanding position, the ministry reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to Syria's sovereignty, political unity and territorial integrity, emphasizing that Ankara will continue to support efforts aimed at safeguarding Syria's territorial integrity and regional stability.
The statement came amid growing regional concern over renewed excavation and construction work by the Israel regime along the "Sufa 53 line" in Quneitra. Syrian authorities have described the activities as a clear violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and international law, while several regional countries have also condemned the move as an infringement of Syria's sovereignty and a threat to regional security.(ILKHA)
