Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baghdad on October 17–18, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced.
Fidan, who chairs the 51st session of the CFM, will deliver the opening address at the meeting before handing over the chairmanship to Iraq, the ministry said in a statement.
The session brings together foreign ministers from OIC member states to discuss issues of common concern and strengthen cooperation across the Muslim world.
Iraq is hosting the meeting in Baghdad, with Türkiye set to transfer the council’s chairmanship as part of the session’s proceedings. (ILKHA)

More than 340 Palestinian children have been killed in the Gaza Strip since a ceasefire was announced just over a year ago, as Israeli attacks, mass displacement and the collapse of essential services continue to threaten children’s lives, the UN children’s agency UNICEF said on Friday.
US President Donald Trump has denied ordering restrictions on Ukraine’s access to Starshield, a military-grade satellite communications service operated by SpaceX, after network limitations reportedly disrupted Kyiv’s ability to defend against Russian attacks.
The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic proportions, with Palestinian health authorities reporting that 466 people have died from hunger and malnutrition since 2024, including 157 children, as the territory marks another World Food Day under conditions of war, blockade and severe food shortages.
