Two Palestinians killed, several injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza
Two Palestinian citizens were killed and four others injured on Saturday as Israeli attacks continued across the Gaza Strip, marking the 133rd consecutive day of reported ceasefire violations in various parts of the besieged enclave.
According to a medical source, 46-year-old Osama an-Najjar was killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted the Qizan an-Najjar area, south of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
In a separate incident, Majed Abul-Awf was killed when a bomb dropped by an Israeli drone struck Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
In Gaza City, a young woman sustained a neck injury after being shot near the Holy Family Church east of the city. Three other civilians were wounded by Israeli gunfire in the ash-Shuja’iya neighborhood.
Earlier in the day, Israeli armored vehicles reportedly opened fire east of Khan Yunis and toward northern areas of Gaza City. Artillery shelling also targeted the al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City. Israeli aircraft conducted an airstrike east of Khan Yunis, while naval gunboats fired heavily toward the city’s coastal waters.
The escalation follows incidents on Friday in which a Palestinian man was killed after an Israeli quadcopter dropped a bomb on his tent in northern Gaza. A child was also injured by Israeli gunfire in the Halawa displacement camp in Jabalia.
The renewed violence comes amid ongoing humanitarian concerns in Gaza, where large areas have been left devastated by months of conflict.
